Philippines will have to play the next Tuesday’s 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Yemen without key player Manny Ott, who has been ruled out for six weeks with a medial collateral ligament injury after a collision with Harry Foll in training.
Ott announced the injury on his official Twitter account from Qatar, where their clash with Yemen will be played at the neutral venue.
As reported by Inquirer, the 25-year-old will miss the crucial match against Yemen on Tuesday and will most likely be unavailable for the duel with Nepal in Kathmandu on 14 November.
“It’s unfortunate that I can’t be there for the team,” said Ott. “I have to focus on recovery now as there are still important matches ahead.”
The Azkals have suffered a growing injured list of key players, including Misagh Bahadoran, Amani Aguinaldo and Javier Patiño.
