Indonesian wonderkid Egy Maulana Vikri is set to continue his football career in Europe after he was offered a dream move by an agent.
His potential move to European football was initiated by Indonesia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports which held a meeting with a Croatian agent, national team U-19 coach Indra Sjafri and Subagja as the player’s representative on Monday.
Egi first came to prominence at the Toulon Tournament in France in May when he starred for the Indonesia U-19 side and was choosen as the best breakthrough player of tournament.
The 17-year-old forward has been improving and became a key part of the Young Garuda squad who finished third at the U-18 AFF Youth Championship in Myanmar this month, where he claimed the top scorer award with eight goals.
“We shared the similiar vision with the football agent. Egy has desire to play in Europe and I told the agent that Egy could go to European football without trial,” Subagja told Goal Indonesia.
“The agent said ‘OK’ and he is ready to bring Egy to Europe. But before any contract was signed, we will travel to Europe to check how serious the club in signing Egy. If everything is fine, then Egy will join.”
“Spain, Italy, and Croatia are the potential destinations. There are many clubs have shown their interest to sign Egy for his talent.”
