Malaysia national football team coach Eduardo Vingada has announced the 24-man squad for a centralized training camp in Johor Baru on Saturday.
Six players from the Under-23 squad will join the national team for the two away Group B matches against North Korea on 5 October and Hong Kong five days later in the 2019 Asian Cup qualifiers.
The six are goalkeeper Ifwat Akmal Chek Kassim (Kedah); Adam Nor Azlin (Selangor); Syamer Kutty Abba (Penang); Safawi Rasid (Johor Darul Ta’zim); and Matthew Davies and Nor Azam Abdul Azih (Pahang).
Only 17 players from the list of 23-man playing in the previous qualifier against Hong Kong, which ended up a 1-1 draw, have been recalled.
After undergoing three-day central training in Johor Bahru, Vingada and his men will depart to Pyongyang via Singapore and Beijing on 3 October.
Full 24-man squad for the Asian Cup qualifiers against North Korea and Hong Kong have revealed on the Football Association of Malaysia’s official website.
