Thailand coach Rajevac “ready to give opportunities to every good player”

Head coach Milovan Rajevac has revealed his reason to make some surprising call-ups, including the 33-year-old Datsakorn Thonglao and Charyl Chappius, for the international friendlies against Myanmar and Kenya.

“The two matches will be the last for the national team this year. We hope the players will put up a good show and gain some experience,” Rajevac said in the meeting at the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) where the preparations for the Thai national and U23 teams were discussed, as quoted by the Bangkok Post.

“I went and watched many [of them play] throughout the country. I am ready to give opportunities to every good player.”

Rajevac sprang a surprise by recalling midfielders Datsakorn Thonglao and Charyl Chappius, who were left out of the War Elephants squad in previous matches.

He also named Muangthong goalkeeper Prasit Padungchok, Suphanburi’s Suphan Thongsong and Krabi FC striker Supoj Jodjum, potentially giving the players their first cap.

Thailand will play Myanmar on 5 October in Mandalay, and Kenya three days later in Bangkok at SCG Stadium.
