Kiatisuk “Zico” Senamuang is set to meet with the officials of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) at the 2017 AFF Awards in Indonesia to talk about the vacant position of the Vietnam national team head coach.
In an exclusive interview with Vietnamplus, VFF general secretary Le Hoai Anh refused to excluded Kiatisuk out of the candidate list since the Thai has yet completed the AFC Pro-Diploma Coaching course, which will be wrapped up at the end of this year.
Previously, “Zico” revealed that VFF wanted to invite him to coach the Vietnam national team but they had not offered any official exchange. However, the former Thailand international thought the position would be an “interesting” challenge.
According to reports in Vietnam, VFF will appoint a new coach for the Golden Stars next month.
Currently, women national team coach Mai Duc Chung is temporarily leading the men’s squad in qualifications for the 2019 Asian Cup.
