Becamex Binh Duong’s head coach Tran Binh Du claimed that Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) showed its favoritism for foreign coaches in finding the new boss for the national team.
“Local coaches do not dare to place themselves in the national team’s coaching position due to the extreme pressure from public opinion, media and VFF. There are many talented Vietnamese coaches, but those things prevent them from taking the hot seat,” Su told media reporters, as quoted by Zing.vn
“In addition, the VFF sometimes does not listen to the coach whenever he suggests any problem because “a prophet is without honor in his country”. Meanwhile, VFF always expresses its preference to foreign coach and accepts all the things that the foreign says,” he added.
VFF has been looking for a foreign coach to replace Nguyen Huu Thang, who had stepped down at last month’s SEA Games, as the new head coach for national team.
