Tianjin TEDA set to appoint former South Korea boss Uli Stielike

Chinese Super League side Tianjin TEDA are set make former South Korea national team head coach Uli Stielike as their new manager.

The 62-year-old German tactician was dismissed from his duty in South Korea in June following a series of poor results in the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Tianjin TEDA are currently led by interim manager Chi Rongliang, who replaced South Korean boss Lee Lim-saeng in August.

Stielike is the favourite to become new coach after the club failed to persuade some big names like Thomas Tuchel, Walter Mazzarri and Bruno Labbadia to join them.

Tianjin TEDA are currently second from bottom of the CSL with 16 points from 22 games and still face a huge threat of relegation.
