3Three players have won joint top scorer award at the men’s football with four goals in 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Despite being eliminated from the group stage with Vietnam U-22 team, striker Nguyen Cong Phuong still finished as the joint top goal scorer. He scored four goals from the Group B matches against Timor Leste, Cambodia, and the Philippines.
The 22-year-old shared the award with Thanabalan Nadarajah of the hosts and Aung Thu of Myanmar, both of whom also netted four times.
In the 28th SEA Games in Singapore, Vietnam’s Vo Huy Toan finished as joint top scorer in the men’s football with five goals. He shared the title with Sithu Aung from Myanmar and Chananan Pombuppha from Thailand.
