After experiencing three impressive wins over minnows Timor Leste, Cambodia and the Phillipines, Vietnam U-22 have to face the uphill battle against title favorites Indonesia in the fourth group B match on Tuesday night at Selayang Stadium.
However, Vietnamese veteran coach Le Thuy Hai believed Indonesia would not be a heavy obstacle for Nguyen Huu Thang and his men.
“Of course, it would be more difficult to play against Indonesia or Thailand than three previous matches. But we have no reason to be afraid of our opponents since they are lagging behind us in the group table. They must fear us,” Hai told Vietnamnet reporters.
“A draw with Indonesia is enough, but our team would face elimination if the men could not earn three points from Thailand in the next match.
Moreover, Indonesia will be hungry for a win since they need more points to climb to the top of the table. Therefore, we have to play with our greatest effort to seal a victory from them,” the four-time V-League champion said.
