Despite slumping to a defeat against Vietnam in the second group stage match at SEA Games, the Cambodia U-22 players were understanding each other better than the previous game, as claimed by defender Nen Sothearoth.
“The match against Vietnam is more difficult than the Philippines in the previous fixture. Everyone had to correct the mistakes they committed in the Philippines defeat,” the Cambodian defender said to Keila Daily.
With three remaining group matches, a semi-final ticket seems to be beyond the reach of Leonardo Vitorino’s site as they have suffered from two straight losses against the Philippines and Vietnam.
However, Nen and his teammates did not lose their hope and determined to bounce back in the next game against defending champions Thailand U-22 on 20 August.
