Vietnam U22 head coach Nguyen Huu Thang admitted that his team were in a very strong group, but still believed that every team has an equal chance to win the gold medal at the upcoming SEA Games.
Vietnam were the first team to arrive in Malaysia for the 29th SEA Games. They have started training in Kuala Lumpur.
The Young Golden Stars were drawn into group B, along with Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Timor Leste and the Philippines.
“We are in a very strong group and it will not be easy against such opposition. We came here hoping to do our best but it’s too early to say anything. I believe every team has an equal chance at the gold medal,” the former Song Lam Nghe An manager said.
“I don’t want to predict anything but the first match is always very important. Of course, Vietnam would like to be champions and win the gold medal but so do the other teams,” he added.
