Thailand U22 announce 20-man squad for SEA Games

Thailand U22 have unveiled the final 20-man squad for the 29th SEA Games, which will take place in Malaysia next week.

According to the squad announced on the official website of Football Association of Thailand (FAT), three young star players of Thai League were surprisingly left out. They are Supachok Sarachat (Buriram United), Thanasit Siriphala (Suphanburi FC) and Panudetch Maiwong (Chonburi FC).

The fitness condition of the players is causing worries for head coach Worrawoot Srimakha. He called up a provisional list of 27 players for training sessions but some potential stars are likely to quit the game, including captain Chenrop Samphaodi, Suriya Singmui, and Chaiyawat Buran, due to serious injuries.

The Thais had earned a 1-1 draw at the warm-up game with Hong Kong’s Eastern Sports Club on Thursday. They will leave for Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
