Michael Essien scores to help Persib Bandung win against PS TNI

Former Real Madrid and Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has scored his third goal for Persib Bandung to help his team to a 3-1 victory over PS INI on Sunday.

This is the first victory for Persib Bandung in almost a month, following a poor string of results which saw them collect just two points from a possible 15 and drop to the 14th place on the league table, just one place above the relegation zone.

Essien signed a one-year deal in March this year as a free agent. The deal also includes the option of an extension should the Ghanaian performs well.

However, according to local media, the 34-year-old has struggled to adapt to the tough weather conditions in the country.

Nevertheless, he has scored three goals for Persib Bandung.
