Australia rising star Riley McGree joins Club Brugge

The Australia midfielder Riley McGree will move to Club Brugge on a four-year deal, the Belgian club have announced.

McGree had a breakout season as one of Adelaide United’s scholarship players on less than $20,000 a year.

He played 16 games for the Reds, scoring one goal in his second A-League start in a draw with Wellington Phoenix on 29 January.

The Aussie sensation was called up to the Australia under-17 team in August 2013 for the 2013 AFF U-16 Youth Championship in Myanmar, where he scored a hat-trick in the side’s group stage win over Brunei.

In March 2017, McGree was called up to the Socceroos for the first time and was part of Ange Postecoglou’s squad in 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification matches against Iraq and UAE.
