Thailand U22 coach Worrawoot confident ahead of clash against Indonesia

Thailand U23 coach Worrawoot Srimakha is confident that his team would qualify for the AFC U23 Championship finals before the last group H qualifier against Indonesia on Sunday.

“We might make some changes in the attack for the match against Indonesia as we’ll have to play better than the game with Malaysia,” Worrawoot said in a press conference, as quoted by Bangkok Posts.

However, the 45-year-old still warned his men against underestimating Indonesia.

“We cannot underestimate the Indonesians. They have speed and are dangerous in their attacks, but we should be able to exploit their weaknesses in the midfield and defence.

“If our players followed the game plan, I am confident that we can get past the Indonesians and qualify for the final stage in China.”

Despite being held up by minnows Mongolia in the first group match on Wednesday, the War Elephants still have chances to earn the top spot at group H and advance to next year’s final after the convincing victory over Malaysia on Friday night.

The winners of the 10 qualifying groups plus the five best runners-up will get the ticket to China.
