Malaysian-American footballer Wan Kuzain Wan Kamal signs professional contract with Swope Park Rangers

United Soccer League team Swope Park Rangers announced they have signed midfielder Wan Kuzain Wan Kamal to a full professional contract.

Being a potential homegrown player for Sporting Kansas City, Kuzain joined Kansas City’s USL affiliate Swope Park Rangers in this March.

The Malaysian-American talent had played at Swope Park’s roster on an Academy contract since the start of 2017 season and already made two appearances.

“I’m very excited and very happy,” Kuzain said, as quoted by SportingKC.com. “I just want to thank the Sporting Kansas City organization and the Swope Park Rangers for believing in me and I’m excited to get to work.”

According to SB Nation, Swope Park Rangers head coach Nikola Popovic described Kuzain as one of the best prospects from Sporting KC’s Academy.

In Kuzain’s two starts he made an impressive debut helping the Rangers to their first two wins and completing 90.6 percent of his 96 passes across those two games.
