Vietnamese midfielder Luong Xuan Truong has made his debut for Gangwon FC against Seoul E-land in the reserve league R-League.
Xuan Truong has just recently returned from a complicated knee injury, which means Gangwon head coach Choi Yoon Gyum can not risk the young centre-midfielder for first team matches.
Xuan Truong scored Gangwon’s third goal of the match in the 49th minute after dispatching the ball expertly from a free kick.
However, things turned sour for Gangwon when they were reduced to ten men just 10 minutes later, and conceded a goal from the penalty spot.
Seoul utilized their number advantage to go on and score three more goals to complete their turnaround.
Lee Dong Jun, Xuan Truong’s agent, said the coaches are satisfied with Truong’s performance.
“Truong played well today. His condition is improving, and so is his match fitness. Coach Choi Yoon Gyum wants to assess Truong’s physical condition after the match with Seoul today,” Lee said.
“The coaching staff wants Truong to regain his match fitness as well. The result is positive and Truong could make the squad for the K-League Classic match next week,” he added.
