Kashima Antlers’s Yuma Suzuki believes Chanathip can shine at Sapporo

Kashima Antlers’ Yuma Suzuki was impressed with Chanathip Songkrasin when their two clubs locked horn yesterday in the final group stage match of the 2017 AFC Champions League.

Chanathip is set to move on loan to J1 League side Consadole Sapporo in July, and Suzuki believes that the Thai forward has the necessary skills to break the first team at his new club.

“Chanathip Songkrasin is a very strong player. The technique is also excellent,” Suzuki told Goal Thailand in a post-match interview.

“I am sure that with these elements, he will make his way to the first team of Consadole Sapporo and impress in J1 League during the next few months,” he added.

Kashima Antlers are the winners of Group E with 12 points, while Muangthong United finish second with 11 points.

In the round of 16, the J1 League outfit will face Guangzhou Evergrande, while Muangthong will clash with another Japanese side, Kawasaki Frontale.
