Head coach Shin Tae-yong of Korean U-20 team has started the final selection to decide 21 players for the entry of U-20 World Cup.
A list of 25 players for the training assembly has been announced earlier this month and the players assembled at Paju NFC on April 10.
The Korean FA has to submit the final list of 21 players to FIFA by May 8.
“I have selected 25 players based on the performances from Jeju off-season training in December, Portugal off-season training in January and Adidas Cup in March,” coach Shin said.
“I will pick out four players by the end of April and kick off training with 21 selected members from early May,” he added.
He also explained his plan, “the team will have intensive fitness training at the beginning. Then they will have condition adjustment while having tactical training.”
Korea is in the same group with Guinea, Argentina and England in the U-20 World Cup.
They will kick off the tournament against Guinea at Jeonju World Cup Stadium on May 20. Second group stage game against Argentina will be played at Jeonju World Cup Stadium on May 26 and the final group stage game against England will take place at Suwon World Cup Stadium on May 26.
