Wan Kuzain Wan Kamal in contention for Malaysia U-23 call-up

Wan Kuzain Wan Kamal shot to fame after making his professional football debut in the United Soccer League (USL) in the United States earlier this week.

The 18-year-old midfielder made the starting XI for his club, Swope Park Rangers, against OKC Energy FC at the Children’s Mercy Victory Field in Kansas City, Missouri.

Wan Kuzain Wan Kamal put in a solid performance in midfield before being substituted, as his team won the match 3 -1.

Wan Kuzain Wan Kamal was born to Malaysian parents in Carbondale, Illinois, thus making him eligible to represent Malaysia.

It is believed that Malaysia’s U-23 head coach Ong Kim Swee is thinking of calling the young midfielder to his national side. There has been no official confirmation on this news, but Wan Kamal could be a great addition to Malaysian’s midfield option.

Wan Kuzain had previously trained with Dutch Eredivisie club Feyenoord’s Academy. He played Academy football with St. Louis Gallagher Soccer Club, notching up eight goals in 27 appearances in the 2015-16 Development Academy season.
