Japan moved back into automatic contention for World Cup qualification after a 2-0 away win over UAE at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.
Japan were largely in control and they got the opener through Yuya Kubo in the 13th minute.
Yasuyuki Konno sealed the deal in the second half when he converted a second goal after Kubo’s cross.
The Blue Samurai moved up to second in Group B with 13 points after 6 matches, while UAE lost their third place to Australia.
