Ajax Amsterdam striker Ezra Walian has reportedly joined Indonesia U-22 team training camp and could make an appearance for the Young Garuda in an upcoming friendly match against Myanmar U-22, according to reports.
The arrival of the 19-year-old footballer was announced by a staff member of the U-22 team, when he posted an image of Walian at the U-22 team training camp, along with a message wishing him luck with the Indonesia national team.
Ezra Walian was born in Amsterdam to an Indonesian father. He joined the famed Jong Ajax academy in 2012 and has represented the Netherlands at youth levels. However, he is still eligible to play for Indonesia at senior level.
The 19-year-old striker is rumored to leave Ajax at the end of the 2016-17 season, with English club Reading reportedly interested in his service. However, Walian’s agent said the young footballer will honor his contract with Ajax before starting negotiation with another club.
