Yuya Kubo scores winner for Gent in Belgian league match

Japanese midfielder Yuya Kubo scored the winning goal in Gent’s 3-2 victory over Waasland-Beveren in the Belgian Pro League. This was his fourth goals in just six league matches for the Buffalos.

The match-winning goal came after Jeremy Perbet twice canceled out a brace from Waasland-Beveren’s Oliver Myny.

Kubo received the ball from Belgian midfielder Rob Schoof and unleashed a clinical left-footed shot through the legs of a defender and past goalkeeper Laszlo Koteles.

Kubo joined Gent from Swiss side Young Boys earlier this year, signing a two-year contract with the Buffalos.

The 23-year-old striker scored 26 goals from more than 100 league appearances for Young Boys.
