Safiq Rahim: Johor Darul Ta’zim’s squad strong enough to cope with tough fixtures

Johor Darul Ta’zim midfielder Safiq Rahim says his team will look to extend their recent fine form to AFC Cup as well as FA Cup competitions.

JDT have defeated Pahang in the Malaysia Super League on Friday. The victory lifted them to the third place in the league table, behind Pahang and Kedah.

“The league will take a break for a while, so we will focus our attention on the AFC Cup and FA Cup. We have to continue this momentum and keep playing in the same way”, Rahim told reporters.

“We have got a full squad, with all quality players. So I am confident that anyone who is fielded on their day will give their best,” he added.

JDT have a bright start to their AFC Cup campaign this season, beating Cambodia’s Boeung Ket Angkor 3-0 at home in their opening match. The 2015 AFC Cup champions will travel to Myanmar to take on local club Magwe on Tuesday.
