Singapore U-20 team to play friendly match in Mauritius

The newly-created Singapore U-20 team, under the management of local legend Fandi Ahmad, will travel to Mauritius to play against the country’s U-21 team, official sources confirmed.

The match will be held at the New George V Stadium on March 11 and will kick-off at 3.00pm local time, according to an official statement from the Football Association of Singapore (FAS).

Previously, Fandi Ahmad has been appointed as the head coach of the Singapore U-20 team.

He has been scouting on youngsters who wasn’t attached to any of the youth teams in order to form a new Singapore Under-20 side, which will serve as a bridge between the U-18 side and the U-22 team.

Members of the team are expected to compete in the upcoming 2017 SEA Games, which will be held in Malaysia in August.
