The 22-year-old’s Rostov have been drawn against Manchester United in the Europa League last 16.
Rostov advanced to the last 16 stage with an impressive 5-1 aggregate victory against Sparta Prague in the first knockout round.
Rostov qualified for the Europa League after finish third in a Champions League group that also contained Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich.
The Russian side have impressed greatly in the group stage, beating Bayern Munich 3-2 at home to condemn them to a third-placed finish in the group.
Sardar Azmoun scored against both Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich.
