In the West Zone, 2004 champions Al Jaish of Syria taking on Jordan’s Al Ahli in Doha in group A. This is a clash where the Jordanian team will hope to make an impact in their debut season in the tournament.
The other match of the group A will also take place in Doha, where Iraqi Premier League champions Al Zawraa play against Oman’s Al Suwaiq.
Meanwhile, the competition’s defending champions, Air Force Club of Iraq, will start this year’s campaign at Lebanon’s Safa in group B. This is the first time Safa has made an appearance in the continental tournament since 2004.
Bahraini Premier League champions Al Hidd will host Syria’s Al Wahda in the remaining match of group B.
