Shanghai SIPG have officially announced the signing of Ricardo Carvalho on a free transfer.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid centre-back moved to the Chinese Super League outfit after leaving AS Monaco at the end of 2015/16 campaign.
“We welcome the arrival of Carvalho and we are convinced that he has both the ability and the experience to strengthen our defence next season,” read a statement from the club.
Carvalho, 38, will link up with former Chelsea midfielder Oscar, who also moved to SIPG in the winter transfer window.
