Shandong Luneng in talks to sign Marseille’s Lassana Diarra

Olympique Marseille midfielder Lassana Diarra is in talks with Shandong Luneng over a possible switch to Chinese Super League.

The France international, who previously played for Real Madrid in 2009-2012, will not be involved for the Ligue 1 match against Nantes this week.

According to La Provence, the 31-year-old has been looking for a move that will enable him to pay off the €10m fine that he owes to Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow.

Diarra also reportedly wants to his contract with the club terminated by mutual consent in order to move to Shandong Luneng without any transfer fees.
