Premier League leaders Chelsea to play in Perth in 2018

English Premier League outfit Chelsea will play a friendly match against Australian club Perth Glory in 2018, official sources confirmed.

The match will be held as an opening ceremony for the newly-erected 65,000-seat Perth Stadium, according to reports.

This will likely be Chelsea’s only match in Australia in 2018. Recently, the club traveled to the country to play a friendly match with Sydney FC in 2015.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for Chelsea to play in front of some of our most passionate supporters,” said Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck.

“We were delighted with the reception we received in Sydney when we visited in 2015, and now we can look forward to the same in Western Australia,” he added.
