China plan to accelerate youth development program

China have unveiled a strategy to become a world football superpower by 2050 and now they are more serious to materialise it in the near future.

One of their plan is to double the number of publicly-run youth football schools this year to 20,000, according to Xinhua.

So far, China have 13,381 football school which typically attached to public primary and middle schools, but the figure will be accelerated from plans announced two years ago to hit the 20,000 mark by 2020, and 50,000 by 2025.

Chinese national team currently sits 81st in the FIFA world rankings, out of 204 nations, below far smaller nations such as Haiti, Panama and Benin.
