Home United takes one-goal lead in AFC Cup qualifiers

Singaporean club Home United scored four goals away from home to edge six-time C-League champions Phnom Penh Crown 4-3 in the first leg of the 2017 AFC Cup qualifying play-off on Sunday.

The S.League outfit took the lead via a Faris Ramli double, but Phnom Penh Crown was quick to react, and Futa Nakamura pulled one back for the home side before half-time.

Home United restored their two-goal lead through a Chiharu Kosuge own goal, but they were pegged back again when Keo Sokgnon found the top corner of the net with a screamer.

Izzdin Shafiq made it 4-2 for the Singaporean club in the late stage of the match, but a powerful free kick by Shane Booysen cut the deficit to just one goal at the finish.

In the other match, goals from Attal and Abu Nahyeh helped Palestinian club Shabab Al-Khalil to a 2-1 victory at home against Omani outfit Al-Suwaiq.
