Indonesian international footballer Stefano Lilipaly has scored an important penalty in his debut match for Dutch club SC Cambuur, helping them to reach the semi-finals of the 2017 KNVB Cup for the first time in history.
Coincidentally, Lilipaly’s success penalty attempt for his new club was against his former team FC Utrecht, contributing to their 7-6 victory in the penalty shootout.
The Dutch-born midfielder started his senior career at FC Utrecht, before moving to Almere City in 2012. He had a short stint in Indonesia with Persija Jakarta, before moving back to the Netherlands in 2015.
Lilipaly is eligible to represent Indonesia at senior international level through his father. He has played nine matches for the Garuda since 2013, scoring two goals.
