Malaysian Super League Champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) has parted ways with Argentine manager Mario Gomez, just days before the start of the 2017 season.
The announcement of the 59-year-old’s departure was posted on the club official Facebook fan page, but no reason was given.
Gomez had won five trophies with JDT since taking charge in 2015, including the 2015 AFC Cup after they beat Tajikistan’s FC Istiklol 1-0 in the final.
Mexican manager Benjamin Mora, who was formerly the head coach of JDT reverse team, has been appointed to take over from Gomez.
