Vietnamese defender Vu Van Thanh said he would like to join his former team-mate, Luong Xuan Truong, to play in the Korean K-League Classic in the upcoming seasons.
A production of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai academy, Vu Van Thanh has emerged as a key player for the Vietnamese club as well as the national team. He has cemented his status in the Golden Stars squad after an AFF Suzuki Cup campaign which saw the team qualified for semi-final for the third time in a row.
According to local newspapers, clubs from Australia and South Korea are interested in the 20-year-old player. However, the Hoang Anh Gia Lai defender made it clear that he would like to play in the Korean K-League Classic.
“I’d like to play in South Korea. I heard a lot about it from [former team-mate] Luong Xuan Truong. It would be great if I can play there, it would give a lot of experience”, Vu Van Thanh told local newspapers.
Hoang Anh Gia Lai’s Luong Xuan Truong is currently playing for Incheon United on a two-year loan deal. Another player from the Vietnamese club, Le Duc Luong, is on trial with the newly-created Ansan FC.
