Former Chelsea star Oscar sparks mass brawl in China Super League

Shanghai SIPG midfielder Oscar ignited a mass brawl during a Chinese Super League match on Sunday.

The incident came just before the half-time injury time during Guangzhou R&F’s 1-1 draw with Shanghai SIPG. After Hulk failed to get past Guangzhou players, Oscar became agitated and smashed the ball toward two opponents.

At this point, Guangzhou’s players reacted angrily to the Brazilian’s actions and pushed him to the ground, which started off a fight between members of both teams.

The referee ended up sending one player off from each side, with each red card for Li Tixiang of Guangzhou and Huan Fu of Shanghai with neither happy with the decision, while former Chelsea star escaped any punishment.

After this draw, Shanghai SIPG remain second in the Chinese Super League, with four points behind leaders Guangzhou Evergrande.
