Some media channels are apparently reporting that Kylian Mbappe is engaging in subterfuge with his owners Paris Saint Germain after announcing his intention to leave the club for free next summer when his contract expires, and as expected with Real Madrid in pole position, nonetheless.
Mbappe has allegedly declared made a big ruckus over his transfer saga which could trigger his departure to the Los Blancos. He has seemingly created a Mexican stand-off with PSG by doubling publicly reinforcing his intention to quit as a free agent when his contract expires next summer. PSG are not expected to chance losing the World Cup winner for nothing as in missing out on a potential £150m transfer fee. It looks most likely they could be forced to sell him off in this transfer window.
Premier League clubs are unlikely to queue up for his signature as the France superstar had always had his sights set on one day playing for Real Madrid, which is expected to happen next summer but the current scenario with the escalating war of words with PSG could also have serious implications impacting Three Lions skipper and Tottenham star Harry Kane as Real Madrid are now likely to redirect all of their intentions to signing Mbappe.
Real Madrid almost succeeded in getiing the most currently sought-after striker in the world 12 months ago and are now expected to redouble their efforts to seal the deal. The Spanish capital club are in pole position to secure his signature and are now waiting to see if Mbappe will on his end force through a move this summer.
However, Mbappe ‘reacted’ angrily to suggestions that his decision not to sign his contract extension for another year – which he delivered in a letter to PSG – were for dubious reasons and insisted they knew all along his sincere intentions of staying on with the Parc des Princes club.
The PSG striker said in a statement: “PSG has been informed since July 15, 2022, of my decision not to extend beyond 2024, and the letter that was sent only served to confirm what I had already told them.”
Mbappe also made clear and obvious denials on social media that he had already made up his mind on a switch to the Bernabeu to join the gargantuan LaLiga club.
He added: “Lies… At the same time, the bigger it is, the more it passes. I have already said that I will continue next season at PSG where I am very happy.”
Oh, the games people play …
