Bundesliga is set to resume this week, posibly on May 9 but it suffers a blow after the government delayed the decision, as 10 players tested positive of COVID-19.
German Football League (DFL) confirmed the cases after conducting 1,724 tests among the Bundesliga players.
The tests was taken after clubs were allowed to train in groups, to make sure no positive results before they train as a team.
All the players infected by the virus have been in isolation.
“A second wave of tests will be carried out this week – here too there may be isolated positive test results, especially since one of the tasks of this second round is to reduce the likelihood of ‘false negative’ findings that can never be completely ruled out.”
This comes after FC Koln were hit by three positive cases of COVID-19 and the players remain in quarantine for 14 days.
