Mason Mount criticised for ignoring self-isolation guideline

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has been criticised after he was spotted of having a kickabout with West Ham player, Declan Rice and friends at Trent Park football centre near Barnet, despite being told to self-isolate for 14 days.

The club deemed the situation as irresponsible since Mount’s team-mate, Callum Hudson-Odoi was tested positive for coronavirus last week.

Mount has reportedly apologised to Chelsea boss Frank Lampard but Chelsea warned players to adhere to official guidelines of self-isolation if they come into close contact with a confirmed case.

There have been no further cases of coronavirus involving Chelsea players or staff.

Rice however, is not subjected to the same self-isolation procedures since there have been no cases at West Ham.

Last week, Chelsea’s training facility at Cobham undergone a cleaning operation as precaution measures.

During the period of self-isolation, players continue to train at their homes and due to return to Cobham next week.
