Barcelona’s bid to win the UEFA Champions League this season is in doubt as they were held 1-1 by Napoli at San Paolo in the Round of 16.
Napoli took the lead through Dries Mertens in the 30th minute, before Antoine Griezmann equalized in 57th minute.
Arturo Vidal makes it even difficult for Barcelona as he was sent off late in the game, and will missed the second leg.
It’s not just about the results, Barcelona are baffled by the fact that they were having 67 percent possession, but only have two shots on target.
Napoli only have 33 percent possession but produced 4 shots on target.
But Barcelona manager Quique Setien insisted its a good result regardless.
“They defended with 10 players very close to their area,” Setien said in the press conference.
“It’s true that we didn’t create but we knew that it was a matter of patience.
“Our insistence allowed us to find some spaces. It’s a good result, especially considering we have the return match at home.”
But Barcelona face a daunting task for the second leg, as their key players Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele, Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto and Gerard Pique all injured while both Sergio Busquets and Vidal are suspended.
