Southwest Asian Football Federation (SWAFF) takes shape in Jeddah

Presidents and representatives of 13 member associations announced the establishment of the Southwest Asian Football Federation (SWAFF) during their meeting in Jeddah on Thursday under the chairmanship of the President of the Saudi Federation Adel Ezzat.

The new federation includes the following: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Yemen, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, “Sri Lanka” and “Nepal”. The meeting reviewed the legal, financial and developmental aspects, infrastructure, competitions, the general assembly, and the general system of the Union.

It was decided to hold the general meeting of the newly formed Federation on 12 August 2018 during which the President and the members of the Executive Bureau will be elected, the agreement on the outline of the Federation’s activities will be agreed upon, in addition to the appointment of the Secretary-General.

The Southwest Asian Football Association supports member states, strengthens their managerial, technical, technical, marketing and logistical capabilities, supports management expertise, builds academies and organizes competitions at all levels.
