Minerva Punjab FC continued their domination in the Youth Championship as well beating Mohammedan SC 3-0 in the final at Barasat Stadium. Minerva Punjab FC took an early lead in the 3rd minute through Longjam Swami Singh in a fast counter-attack through a header as Mohammedan pressed forward playing a high attacking line.
Mohammedan SC dominated the proceedings for the rest of the half but failed to snatch an equalizer as Minerva Punjab FC backline was tested time and again by Mohammed Zeedan, Nabakumar Santra and Suja.
Back in the second, Minerva FC put the game to bed with two back to back goals early in the second half through skipper Himanshu Jangra(45′ and 46′). It was Mohammedan SC who scaffolded the opposition but failed to convert a number of golden opportunity to find a way back into the game. Poor finishing in the final third let Mohammedan SC down as Minerva FC held on to their lead to seal a battling 3-0 win to emerge as champions in the U-13 Youth Championship to emulate the feat of the Minerva Punjab FC senior team.
