In the AFC Cup Group E encounter, Bengaluru FC showed a clinical performance to rout compatriot Aizawl FC 5-0 at the Sree Kanteerava stadium on Wednesday.
Sunil Chhetri opened the scoring for The Blues in the 16th minute converting a penalty, while Daniel Segovia doubled the lead a minute after to give Bengaluru FC 2-0 lead.
Bengaluru FC started to exert their domination in the game as Udanta Singh made it 3-0 with a simple tap-in from Sunil Chhetri’s assist.
Back in the second half, Daniel Segovia added his second with headed flick while Daniel Lalhimpuia completed the destruction of Aizawl FC with a fifth goal as Bengaluru FC registered a convincing 5-0 victory.
Bengaluru FC will now face Abahani limited Dhaka in their final game of Group E on 16th of May.In order to qualify Bengaluru FC must win their final game and hope Aizawl FC denies New Radiant SC a win in order to qualify.
