Aidil gets four-match ban for abusing referee in Asian Cup qualifier against Hong Kong

Malaysia national team defender Mohd Aidil Zafuan Abdul Razak has been slapped with a US$5,000 fine and a four-match ban by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for “bringing the game into disrepute”.

As reported by The Star Online, the AFC disciplinary and ethics committee claimed that Aidil was guilty of abusing referee Christopher Beath in the 1-1 draw to Hong Kong in 2019 Asian Cup qualifier on 6 September.

The suspension will see the Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) player miss the Asian Cup qualifying match against Hong Kong on 10 October, North Korea (Nov 14), Lebanon (March 27, 2018) and the next international game.
