Iranian striker Karim Ansarifard has joined FC Olympiacos from Panionios in a three-and-a-half-year deal worth of €1 million, according to sources.
Ansarifard, whose contract was set to expire at end of season, was in negotiations with Olympiacos for few weeks. The negotiation process is reportedly materialized in the early morning of January 13th.
Speaking to reporters, the 26-year-old Ansarifard said: “I’m very happy to join a big club such as Olympiacos. I’m fully aware of the importance and heritage of this club in Greek Super League, so I will try to my utmost in every game for this team to make the fans happy.”
Karim Ansarifard had scored 5 goals in 14 matches for Panionios so far this season.
Iranian striker at Olympiacos will now play alongside talented and experienced players such as Cambiasso, Domínguez, and Bouchalakis.
Olympiacos currently leads the table at Greece Super League and is still in competition for the Europa League title.
