Two players suspended from Cambodia U22 ahead of Indonesia clash due to disciplinary reason

Cambodia U-22 have dismissed two key players from the squad ahead of the final group stage match against Indonesia on Thursday.

According to reports from Cambodia, the statement was announced by head coach Leonardo Vitorino in a video released by Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) on Wednesday.

In the statement, two players including Chreng Polroth and Samoeun Pidor have been suspended from Cambodia U-22 due to disciplinary reason. The Brazilian coach did not make any further comments about his players’ suspension.

“We would like to inform to all that we are looking for the best things for the National Team. Polroth and Pidor, they are cut [dropped] from the National Team [U22] one day before the match against Indonesia,” Vitorino said.

“We are together, and we are looking for the better future for the National Team. They were cut [dropped] because of discipline, so if the players do not follow the new rules of the National Team, they are out of the National Team.

We are looking for the better future for your country and your football, so now we will be very strong about the discipline. I hope you [supporters] support our journey with the National Team because we want to make the National Team strong, we want to make the Cambodian people proud of their National Team.”

Cambodia, who suffered from four straight losses, will have the final chance to earn points at this year’s SEA Games in the match against Indonesia on Thursday at Shah Alam Stadium.
