Thailand U22 coach Worrawoot Srimakha: Nobody is guaranteed of a place in the team

“Nobody is assured of a place in the team,” Thailand U22 coach Worrawoot Srimakha warned his players during the training sessions on Tuesday.

The provisional squad of 26 players are joining the training camp to prepare for next week’s SEA Games.

Worrawoot’s side will play a warm-up match with Eastern FC from Hong Kong on Aug 10.

According to plan, the official squad will be fixed to 20 players before the men football event of the regional sporting tournament kicked off on 14 August.

“Everybody has to work hard during training to be included. It depends on their training and fitness levels,” the former Thailand international added, as quoted by Bangkok Post.

However, Worrawoot said those who can play in several positions are likely to be picked.

The defending champions will play their first game against Indonesia on Aug 15, followed by Group B games against Timor Leste (Aug 17), Cambodia (Aug 20), the Philippines (Aug 22) and Vietnam (Aug 24).
