Thai footballer Chanathip Songkrasin will be likely to make his official debut for Consadole Sapporo in the Levain Cup clash against Cerezo Osaka on Wednesday.
As reported by Bangkok Posts, Consadole Sapporo targets Chanathip for the cup clash because he can earn a goal for the team as an attacking midfielder.
“Chanathip will surely be in the squad for the match [today]. But we will make a decision later whether he will play. We need to score because we lost 2-0 in the first leg against Cerezo Osaka,” Consadole coach Shuhei Yomoda said.
Chanathip joined the J-League club last month on an 18-month loan deal from Thai League champions Muangthong United.
The Thailand international was playing against Muangthong in a friendly at SCG Stadium on Saturday, which is one of the events in their oversea tour, dated from 20 to 23 July.
