Indonesia international Pratama Arhan became the latest Southeast Asian star to join the Thai League 1 after the left-back was snapped up on a free transfer by True Bangkok United on Tuesday.
Arhan joined the Bangkok Angels after a nightmare season at K League 1 side Suwon FC where he only clocked up a total of four minutes worth of appearances during his stay there, in a season that saw Arhan making more appearances for the national team compared to his club.
Highlighting his lethal throw-in abilities in his introduction video, Bangkok United signed Arhan with hopes that he could provide cover and competition to the left-back sector, which currently has senior defenders Peerapat Notechaiya and Wanchai Jarunongkran. Arhan will also play alongside several notable names such as former Red Star Belgrade attacker Richairo Zivkovic, former Persebaya Surabaya man Mahmoud Eid, and Thai internationals Thitiphan Puangchan, Rungrath Poomchantuek, and Weerathep Pomphan.
With the likes of Yanto Basna and Asnawi Mangkualam proving to be successful at the Thai League in recent years, Arhan will be looking to emulate the two and revive a career that has been faltering following a series of failed moves abroad.
