OFFICIAL: Madura United sign former West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie

Indonesian side Madura United have completed the signing of former Nigeria international striker Peter Odemwingie as a marquee player.

The 35-year-old was a free agent after being released by English Championship outfit Rotherham United on last February.

Odemwingie, who made made 63 appearances for Nigeria, became the third high-profile star after Michael Essien and Carlton Cole to move to the Indonesian Liga 1 this season.

“I’m glad with the signing of Odemwingie and also appreciate Torabika which officially became our sponsor,” said Madura United team manager Haruna Soemitro was quoted as saying by Goal Indonesia.

Odemwingie has enjoyed a stellar career in Europe, starring for French Ligue 1 side Lille, Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia and also with the English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion.
